Plan Your Whole Year in One Hour

You do not need a whole weekend to plan a year. One focused hour with a calendar and a cup of coffee gets you most of the benefit, and it makes every month after that easier.

Minutes 0 to 10: Put the fixed dates on the page

Write down what is already certain: school breaks, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and any work or church events you know about. These are the anchors everything else hangs on.

Minutes 10 to 20: Mark your breaks and trips

Choose when you want to travel or rest, and write it down before other things fill the space. If you do not protect time off, it rarely happens.

Minutes 20 to 35: Name your top priorities

Pick up to five things that matter most this year. Fewer is better. For each one, note why it matters and what the first small step is.

Minutes 35 to 50: Sketch each quarter

For every three month stretch, write one focus. This keeps the big picture simple and gives you a natural place to check in.

Minutes 50 to 60: Fill in January

Finish by planning the first month in detail. Momentum matters, and a clear January makes it easier to keep going.
