A New Year Home Reset You Can Finish in Four Weeks
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This costs you nothing extra.
A fresh start does not require a total overhaul. Break the house into rooms, give each week a focus, and the reset happens almost without notice.
Week one: Kitchen and pantry
Clear the counters, empty the fridge of anything expired, and wipe down shelves. Go through the pantry, group like items and make a list of what you actually need to restock.
Week two: Living areas and entry
Return stray items to where they belong, clear the coffee table, sort the mail pile and set up a simple landing spot for shoes, bags and keys.
Week three: Bedrooms and closets
Pull out clothes you have not worn this year and decide to keep, donate or toss. Wash bedding, flip or rotate mattresses and tidy nightstands.
Week four: Bathrooms, laundry and supplies
Clear out old products, scrub surfaces, and check your cleaning supplies so you are stocked for the months ahead.
Use three simple piles
For every item, decide: keep, donate or sell, or toss. Keep a box by the door for donations so they leave the house quickly.
Finish with a weekly reset
Pick one day, maybe Sunday, to spend twenty minutes putting the house back in order. This keeps the progress you made.
