How to Make a Vision Board You Will Actually Use

A vision board only works if you look at it. The most common problem is a beautiful board that ends up behind a door. A few small choices make it something you actually use.
Decide what the board is for
Pick a focus: the whole year, one season, or one area like home or health. A focused board is easier to build and easier to remember.
Start with words, not pictures
Before you cut anything out, write down what you want more of. How do you want to feel? What do you want your days to look like? The pictures should serve those answers.
Gather your pictures
Magazines, old calendars, printed photos and your own drawings all work. Choose images that make you feel something, not just ones that look nice.
Group by area of life
Dividing the board into areas such as faith, family, home, health, work and fun keeps it balanced. You can also add a short phrase or verse in each section.
Put it where you will see it
Beside your desk, inside a closet door, or at the front of your planner. If it is on your phone or tucked in a drawer, it will not do its job.
Review it each month
Spend five minutes at the start of each month asking what moved forward and what you want to focus on next.
Print and paste, or type it out
